What to Expect

The Aunt Edwina books are full of fun adventures and hijinks. The characters are a bit zany, but it’s all for a good cause. These are clean read, family-friendly books suitable for ages 10-110. They are light, heartwarming fiction reads for the amateur family historian or genealogist. You’ll find parish registers, census records, archives and family heirlooms mentioned, but not to the point where the book becomes a nonfiction ‘how to’ guide bogging down the fun story.

“A lightweight, warm, and often charming adventure.”

— Kirkus Reviews

“This was a wonderful story of bringing the past and the present together. It reminds us how important knowing about our ancestors is. It is cozy and comforting while the characters go on a scavenger hunt to better understand an aunt who has passed away. The characters are likeable and multidimensional. The story is fun and makes you want to keep reading. There is heartbreak, and love. A quirky cast of supporting characters adds to the color of the story. You never know what they will find next on their hunt. It shows how we live in a big world, but are all connected in ways we may not anticipate. A heartwarming read that is an absolute must!”

“As I don't read the blurb before trying a book I didn't know what to expect but it is brilliant. Different storyline to many other types of novels but one that I will read again at a later date. Very well thought out and written, well worth 5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC.”

I received a copy of Aunt Edwina's Wonderful legacy from the author. This does not  affect my review.

In Aunt Edwina's Wonderful Legacy, Julie, Gertie, Ewan and the rest  return, along side some new zany characters! Julie's genealogical research facility is  launching, and it's time to help others explore their family mysteries!

What a fun read! I couldn't put it down. I really felt like there was a stronger flow to this book than the first one of the series. I  loved the way the characters new and old interacted.

I really wanna see more of Julie and Ewan together!! They're both so sweet,  I just  want them to be together.

I really love getting to know geneology.  It's so much fun getting to know the research techniques,  while solving mysteries

Truly Delightful Read

Aunt Edwina’s Wonderful Legacy is the 2nd book in the Aunt Edwina series of Family History novels and once again we are all in for a genealogical treat. The truly wonderful-sounding Greymore Genealogy Research Site is now open to the public which brings lots of new arrivals, some good, some bad, plus a little bit of chaos and mayhem all thrown in for good measure. We get to meet a few new characters along the way, plus the usual regulars are back to join in with the fun, the puzzle solving and all the genealogical hard work. As an aside and a family history researcher myself, the Greymore Genealogy Research Site does sound like a researcher's dream! This time the team try to unravel the story behind some mysterious family heirlooms brought to their attention by a newcomer to family history, plus another new and rather unseemly character tries his hand at staking a claim to a family-run confectionary business. Both these mysteries involve the team making various field trips trying to piece the evidence and stories together. A delightful read for anyone who enjoys genealogical mysteries and history in general. I really can’t wait to see what Julie Fincher and the gang get up to in book 3.
